What the Golden Visa Gives You
- A long-term, renewable residence visa valid for 5 or 10 years
- No sponsor needed
- You can stay outside the UAE for longer than the usual six months without the visa lapsing
- You can sponsor family members, including your spouse and children
UAE Golden Visa Categories and Requirements
These are the eligible categories the UAE government lists, with the residency length and main requirements for each. Each category has its own detailed conditions.
Investors (public investments or real estate)
10 years (public investments) · 5 years (real estate)
Minimum capital of AED 2 million; property ownership, or a contribution to an establishment paying at least AED 250,000 a year in taxes.
Entrepreneurs
5 years
Proof of an innovative or technical project, documents proving the project's value, and a letter from a business incubator or the relevant authority in the emirate.
Exceptional talent and rare specialisations
10 years
Includes doctors, scientists, inventors, creatives in culture and arts, executives, athletes, PhD holders and specialists in priority scientific and engineering fields. Each subcategory has its own requirements, such as recommendation letters, practical experience or accredited degrees.
Outstanding students
5 years (high-school achievers) · 10 years (top university students)
Certificates of excellence and recommendation letters from the school or university.
Humanitarian pioneers and frontline heroes
10 years
Certificates of appreciation, documentation of humanitarian contribution, or at least 5 years of service.

Applying from Pakistan
Golden Visa applications are made through the UAE's official channels — ICP's eServices (which also has an eligibility check), GDRFA Dubai's Golden visa services, and for creatives a recommendation from the Ministry of Culture.
The documents behind each category — degrees, property title deeds, company and tax records, recommendation letters — must be complete and consistent. Documents issued in Pakistan, such as degree certificates, generally need attesting before UAE authorities accept them, so start that early.
